At Lake Country, we believe in raising our dogs in real homes — with love, attention, routine, and human connection. Our Guardianship Program allows us to grow our breeding lines while ensuring each dog lives a full, joyful, family-centered life.

This program is ideal for families who have always dreamed of a top-quality English cream golden retriever but want a more affordable path and the chance to partner with us in something meaningful.

What Is a Guardian Home?

A guardian family provides a loving, stable forever home for one of our chosen breeding dogs.
We retain breeding rights for a set number of litters (females) or stud services (males), and after the dog completes their breeding career, ownership transfers fully to the guardian family.

Guardian Home Requirements

• Live within 2 hours of our home
• Provide a safe, loving, indoor home environment
• Keep the dog on a healthy diet & follow veterinary guidelines
• Maintain grooming, training, and socialization
• Communicate openly and reliably
• Willingness to work together on breeding and health testing
• Ensure the dog is never allowed to roam or breed outside Lake Country

Costs

Our guardians pay only a small placement fee, and receive a top-quality dog valued at several thousand dollars.

You are responsible for:

• Everyday care (food, grooming, routine vet care)
• A safe and loving environment
• Transportation to us when needed

We cover:

• All breeding-related health testing
• Reproductive veterinary costs
• A safe and secure breeding and/or whelping/puppy-raising experience at our home
